We aimed high, and raised higher!
This year’s Big Give Christmas campaign has been a huge success and we are still blown away by the generosity and loyalty of our supporters. For the first time ever, we raised over £100,000 in only one week. Needless to say, we were over the moon when we reached our goal one day early!
In previous years, Honeypot had taken a humble approach, setting our Big Give goal to £5,000 or £15,000 total. Due to this year’s unique situation and the increased need for our services, we decided to aim high. For the first time ever, we set our Big Give goal to raise a total of £100,000 within one week. Match funded by the Childhood Trust, we were determined to reach this target, i.e. to raise £50,000 in public donations between 1-8 December.
We know how crucial our support is for young carers during these uncertain times. And the tenacity and dedication shown by our supporters has really been breathtaking. With the generosity of a total of 368 donors and sponsors, we were able to reach our Big Give goal one day early, and ultimately reach a total of £111,000 through the campaign! All donations will contribute towards our newly launched Wrap-Round service, designed to alleviate the immense stress and anxiety so many of our young carers are facing, and the financial burdens brought on by the pandemic.
This year was challenging in many ways, but the perseverance of our supporters was truly outstanding. It has been heartwarming to see communities coming together to fundraise for our cause. On behalf of everyone at Honeypot, a massive thank you to all our corporates and communities who donated or participated in fundraising for the Big Give!
We are delighted that Cocorose raised a total of £16,000 through donating money from the sales of their face masks and Hoxton Rainbow trainers! That Walhampton School raised an astonishing £4980 through bake sales and sponsored walks. And Jackie Vokes, from Blackfield, raised £200 from selling handmade masks with bumble bees on them and knitted hundreds of bees for us to disperse.
These fundraising stories have shown us that in a time where closeness is prohibited and events are restricted, we have never been more united. Thank you from all at Honeypot.
