Honeypot's sport quiz
Last Saturday night, young carers put on their thinking caps for Honeypot’s virtual games and quiz workshop! With a range of sport related activities and questions, they were given an opportunity to exercise their knowledge, and share a variety of interesting facts with one another.
Our Online Respite sessions have been an innovative approach to tackle the social isolation brought on by the pandemic, creating a safe place for young carers to interact, share stories and make long lasting memories. The workshops have established a balance of educational purpose and fun, with a topical theme each week to engage all attendees!
Our games and quiz night was just this! With a string of activities, such as “sport charades”, “guess the sport and equipment”, “True or false” and “guess the athlete”, young carers were able to enter into a healthy competition, testing their understanding of the sporting world.
We were impressed by the determination from all the children who took part, even those who confessed that they were not big sports fans! It was also an opportunity for them to catch-up and share their thoughts and feelings around lockdown, and how they can’t wait for it to end.
