The Honeypot Open
On the 20th May our Honeypot Open took place where 18 teams competed to win the prestigious title of Honeypot Open winners 2022!
The day was hosted at the beautiful grounds of Royal Winchester Golf Club, despite early rain, the sun came out as our teams headed onto the course to fight for the title which was first awarded in 1997, the year after Honeypot Children’s Charity started.
After a day of golf in the sunshine, a 3-course dinner was enjoyed as more guests arrived. A game of ‘To Bee or not to Bee’ (A twist on the classic heads or tails), began the evening’s activities. In attendance was the amazing actor and ambassador for Honeypot Steven Mackintosh, most recently known for Rocketman. Steven moved everyone with a speech on why he is a Honeypot ambassador.
A long putt competiton gave our teams the opportunity to practice while teams fought it out for
-Ladies Longest Drive Competition (6th)
- Beat the Pro (7th)
- Mens Longest Drive (10th)
- Closest to the Pin (17th)
We were honoured to have professional golfer Tracey Boyes to test everyone on our beat the pro hole! Well done to everyone who did manage to claim the prize, she’s tough competition.
The event was organised by our incredible Community Engagement Manager in Hampshire, Viv Carter. Her speech gave everyone an insight on the amazing work all the donations raised will go towards, sharing the story of a young carer named Mia and how the wrap-round services have helped her.
Ultimately, this led on to the moment everyone was waiting for, who are the winners?
Well done to Sweet Projects!

3rd Place - KHGC Roll-Up

There was also a surprise visit from the Honeypot mascot, Bumble.
Thank you to everyone who came and donated, from the silent auction to the raffle.
In total we managed to raise approximately….
£14,000 is enough to fund Honeypot's Wrap-Round support service for a full year for 14 young carers, including a residential respite break, a series of 1 hr after school SWARMs and 2 hours of online activity workshops.
This would not have been possible without our event sponsors Selwood, The Royal Winchester Golf club and our wonderful volunteers.
