We’ve been busy working on Honeypot House Scotland
The past few months have been extremely busy as we renovate our new Scottish home in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The Old School Dalleages building has been a B&B and a school in recent years, however with plans to open the doors to children in Scotland in July renovations are full steam ahead!
Here’s what’s been happening….
Kitchen and Dining Area

As you can see from the first image the kitchen needed improvements so it was safe and fit to feed dozens of hungry young carers! The dining and lounge area has been completely stripped, brick walls plastered and radiator replaced, leaving a much larger space. The next step is kitchen installation!
The corridor

The brick wall in the corridor has been boarded up and painted making the space much bigger. Floorboards have been sanded down, stripped back and ready for vanish, bringing the wood back to life! New radiators have been fitted along the corridor with wall lights removed. Plus, medium spot lights have now been fitted to bring more light!

All staff and children’s bedrooms are completed with new carpet and lights, ready to be furnished for bedtime stories and fun-filled sleepovers!
Library and Music Room

The Library and Music room has been stripped back and is now ready to be painted. The bathroom has been removed and the room is now ready to be fitted with 2 toilet cubicles.
Offices and Carpark

We are still considering the best option for our car park, we are unable to put up a high fence up due to driving blind spots. Offices are almost ready for our team to move in and plan some laughter-filled breaks!
Outside and Extentsion Area

Our most important area, outside! We are still carefully planning to ensure it is safe for children to use as a play area. The shed is going to be moved towards the back and replace the outer building, enabling more room for much needed go-kart races and games! Our extension area is where the most extensive work needs to be completed, with the steel beams replacement happening imminently.
