Your donations will make twice the impact this summer!

We are taking part in the summer Big Give, which means that in the week between 8-15 June, your donation will be doubled at absolutely no extra cost to you.

The Big Give is the UK’s largest match-funding campaign. All donations made through our Big Give page during the campaign’s week (8-15 June) will be doubled by a generous sponsor.

The campaign opens at midday 8th of June, and we are aiming to raise a total of £40,000.

We are reopening our respite houses in August

After the long wait, we are anticipating to reopen our respite houses in August, and we can’t wait to welcome children back. For many young carers it will be the first time in over a year that they can take a break from their caring responsibilities at home, and enjoy some worry-free time with other children with a shared experience. In parallel, we keep running our digital support programme so children stay connected and have opportunities to learn new skills and build their confidence.

The impact of lockdown and months of uncertainty has affected the mental and physical wellbeing of thousands of young carers across the country, yet their voices are often not heard. For many families, the pandemic has caused additional financial hardship.

Our new range of services, including face-to-face and online support, has been designed to tackle the complex needs of young carers, including emotional, educational and financial support.

By donating between the 8th-16th of June, you will help us create happy childhood memories for many of these children. Whether it’s through a learning programme which helps young carers build their confidence and the belief that they can succeed in education, creative workshops where they learn new skills, or our new Wellbeing Fund, which supports families from financially disadvantaged families.

No one deserves a break from their daily routines more then these little super heroes, who have been selflessly caring for a loved one during which may have been the hardest year of their life for many of them.
