Thank you to everyone who's fundraised for Honeypot recently!

King Edward VI School Southampton welcomed Bumble to lunchtime last term and raised an amazing £1,000 with their non-uniform day, plus another £500 match funded by Ernst & Young! Pictured here are some of their depictions of Bumble in pennies – pretty spot on!

Christopher Hoare Tree Services were at the New Forest Show raising money and awareness with their family activities. With their climbing challenge, raffle for a beautiful hand-made table and beanbag throwing competition, they raised £1,500!

This month there have been some intrepid athletes braving the weather to raise money for Honeypot.

The team from Aspire took on a triathlon with a twist as they mountain biked, kayaked and trekked across the Lake District in support of Honeypot. They smashed their target of £8,000, raising more than £9,000!

A huge well done to Tracie White and Annabel and Helen Cullington who trudged 12 miles in the wind and rain as part of Walk the Test Way! Altogether they raised £350 for Honeypot. Annabel (age 12) visited Honeypot House last term with St Anne's Catholic School, Southampton and was inspired to support Honeypot.

The ”Honeypot Hopefuls” took on the challenge of a lifetime with the Ragnar Relay challenge along the South Coast. This 172-mile non-stop relay race is normally taken on by teams of ten – but with only five in their team, each team member ended up running the equivalent of one and a half marathons each, on minimal sleep! Team members David Sweeting, Colin Kirkham, Tim Cairnes, Alex White and Simon Venables commented: “This was by far the hardest thing we have done, but the medals were worth the effort. We recently had the opportunity to visit Honeypot and see the work they do; it was incredibly humbling.” The team are hoping to raise enough to provide two children with a whole year of Honeypot support.

The Team Honeypot Chester Marathon runners raised an unbelievable £1,852, while the teams from St George and Bank of America who braved the rain to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Honeypot raised an amazing £1,985 and counting.

Honeypot volunteers have been out and about this month raising money, spreading awareness and helping keep our houses ship-shape.

At Honeypot Pen y Bryn, regular volunteers Steve and Jo have put together a beautiful pumpkin patch ready for Halloween.

Thank you to our volunteer bucket collectors at Music in the City in Southampton. Despite the high winds they managed to keep their feet on the floor and raised £304.38. One young man came up to Bumble and said, “You’ve just brought back lots of happy memories of my childhood when I used to go to Honeypot!”

Our fundraising volunteers also worked hard selling cupcakes at Westquay’s Student Evening. Photographer Sally Golden took photos of groups to raise funds too. Another £113.91 was raised, which will provide Christmas presents and treats for 5 Honeypot children.

Finally a thank you to everyone who has donated to Honeypot, including Exxonmobil who have donated over £900 in the last month and Councillor Malcolm Wade whose £525 grant will provide support to a local young carer for a whole year.
