Munich Re’s SEAL of approval

We had the pleasure of having some of the Munich Re team to visit a SEAL break at Honeypot House Hampshire last week! Munich Re have supported Honeypot’s SEAL program through their inhouse social engagement awards in the past year, they got to see first-hand the impact they are having on young carers lives!

Learning about the work of Honeypot makes me humble and I can see how the SEAL breaks can enrich young lives.  These breaks truly make a difference to not only change how the children may access education, and hence set them up for life, but to give them experiences that for whatever reason they may not be able to have at home.

They got to meet Hampshire’s Community Engagement Manager Viv Carter who spoke through some touching stories on how the donations have helped changed young carers lives at Honeypot (There were some tears). The Munich Re team enjoyed seeing the beautiful grounds that are commonly filled with laughter and games, even joining in on the fun with the outdoor play equipment!

Thank you for providing me with such a privileged opportunity to come and visit Honeypot House. Learning about the work of Honeypot makes me humble and I can see how the SEAL breaks can enrich young lives.  These breaks truly make a difference to not only change how the children may access education, and hence set them up for life, but to give them experiences that for whatever reason they may not be able to have at home.  Honeypot makes a real difference to those who come to Honeypot House, and you can see that those children enrich the lives of the staff too.
— Claire Weston, CEO Great Lakes UK Branch

Honeypot’s Director of Operations Nagindra Chungh then spoke through how Honeypot’s SEAL breaks work, the challenges children face when starting their week with us, and the transformative outcomes. Concluding with meeting Chanelle, Honeypot’s SEAL Children’s Services Leader and a school staff member to explore the amazing feedback SEAL has recieved.

Thank you so much for making us so welcome and spending time showing us the brilliant work that Honeypot does. It was a real privilege to observe first-hand the amazing difference Honeypot makes to so many children.  Honeypot House is a truly special place and it is obvious that stays, whether as part of a SEAL break or respite weekends, are life changing experiences. The staff were inspiring, warm and so dedicated to improving children’s lives.
